Caracol Television kicks off the year by closing an important agreement for the distribution of the documentary “Finding Home”. This production by Why Club Records Inc, directed by renowned director Daniel Durán, stars the multi-award-winning Latin pop artists Mau and Ricky, known not only for their own musical hits like “Desconocidos,” alongside Manuel Turizo and Camilo, and “Mi Mala,” in collaboration with Karol G, Becky G, Leslie Grace, and Lali, among others, but also as composers of some of the most streamed Latin hits worldwide like “Sin Pijama” by Becky G and Natti Natasha or “Vente Pa’Ca” by Ricky Martin and Maluma.
Winners of several Diamond and Platinum Discs, their latest album “Hotel Caracas” stands out, undoubtedly a work of unparalleled quality that earned them three nominations for this year’s Latin Grammy Awards. It was included in Billboard’s list of the 24 best albums of the year and named one of the 50 best albums of the year by Rolling Stone. “Hotel Caracas” was the trigger for the brothers Mau and Ricky’s return to Venezuela, embarking on a personal journey to reconnect with their roots, a journey they wanted to immortalize in this documentary.
Mau and Ricky are part of a family of prominent artists, including their father, the legendary Ricardo Montaner. They were born in Venezuela, but are unsure if they feel from there. It is their land, but they no longer feel the right to claim it as their own. Their family emigrated to Miami when they were just children, and their identity, their sense of belonging, became clouded, diluted, and vanished. They have ignored this void in their chests for too long, so it is time to do something about it. How can someone connect with their own land with that pernicious impostor syndrome?
Throughout its 100 minutes, “Finding Home” follows their journey, in which they aim to reconnect with beloved places and people, rebuild their relationship with their homeland, and also reopen old wounds in an attempt to heal.
Lisette Osorio, VP of International Business at Caracol Television, highlighted: “We are very motivated to include in our catalog current stories of international relevance. ‘Finding Home’ is a powerful testimony about identity, family, and reconnection. Telling how two current and popular artists like Mau and Ricky reconnect with their homeland is an invaluable opportunity to inspire audiences around the world.“
Mau and Ricky emphasized: “This journey changed our lives. After more than a decade without going to Venezuela, we were able to reconnect with our roots and heal many wounds. We didn’t know exactly how much we needed it until we arrived. We think of so many people far from their origins, uncertain if they will be able to return… Going back home is not easy, but it is NECESSARY.”

About Why Club Records: We are a record label born in Miami in 2023, although in the minds of the project’s founders, brothers Mau and Ricky, it had existed for years. They dreamed of a place where they could embrace their creations and other artists who had something to say and wanted to break the mold. Mau and Ricky have always tried with their lyrics, voices, and actions to connect with the audience in a way beyond the musical, and now they seek to make Why Club Records the home of those artists whose primary interest is the same as theirs, not only to have success with their music but also to make that music impact, motivate, and transform the people who listen to it.
