Peter the Great: Greater Than Ever, the production that, during its 23 episodes aired in Colombia, broke audience records, becoming the most-watched show in the country for the past two years and one of the most successful of the year on Disney+, will arrive on Univision this September 18th. The television network purchased the rights to broadcast the successful series in the United States, making it the first 100% Colombian production to reach the prime time of this channel.
The sequel to the successful Colombian telenovela, which in its first season reached more than 105 countries and stars the talented actor Miguel Varoni, showcases the return of Pedro Coral, an unconventional hero with his bold personality, flashy outfits, and iconic Pirulino dance. The man, who after living 20 years abroad trying to survive and fulfill his duties as a father, returns to his homeland more serious, more charming, more elegant, and more exotic.
Once he arrives in his country, he encounters a completely different reality from the one he left behind when he was forced to seek new horizons. To his surprise, he discovers that his son, Pedro Junior, played by Carlos Torres, has become a successful and prosperous professional. Pedro feels compelled to invent a series of stories in order to hide his that it has been a life of sacrifices and hardships to earn the respect and admiration of Pedro Jr. But these lies begin to unravel under their own weight when he has to look for a job as a messenger at the company where his son is vice president. There, he also meets Fernanda, played by Ana María Trujillo, the successful president of the company, with whom he falls in love.
However, the peculiar life of this character takes a turn when Dr. Paula Dávila enters, the woman who stole Coral’s heart 20 years ago. Who will win his heart?
Peter the Great: Greater Than Ever is written by Felipe Salamanca, with executive production by Juan Carlos Villamizar and Dago García, the same team behind the original story, and directed by Juan Carlos Vásquez, Andrés Marroquín, and Juan Carlos Villamizar.
In this new story, several talents who shone in the first season will return, such as: Sandra Reyes (Paula Dávila), Juan Carlos Arango (Enrique Bueno), Álvaro Bayona (Pastor Gaitán), Andrea Guzmán (Yadira Pacheco), and Marcela Mar (Mayerli Pacheco), who captured the hearts of the series’ fans with their memorable performances.

According to Kantar Ibope figures, the production achieved a 44.6% share and a 9.8 rating points on its premiere day in Colombia, surpassing its competitor, which had a 23.1% share and a 5.1 rating, meaning that nearly 8 million Colombians were tuned into the story.
In addition, it had a social media reach exceeding 80 million users on its premiere day; over 30 million of these were during the airing of the first episode. It also entered the top 3 national productions with the most social media conversation on July 16, with more than 3,000 mentions.
Meanwhile, after its final broadcast, the story became the most successful series in the country in the last two years, with a grand finale of 47.1% share and a 9.3 rating, surpassing its direct competitor, “Yo Soy Betty, la Fea,” which had a 25.1% share and a 5.0 rating.
The superproduction by Caracol Televisión and Disney+ dominated prime time across its 23 episodes, achieving an average of 9.3 rating points and 44.2% share.
On average, more than 6.5 million Colombians per episode followed this story, witnessing how one of the most beloved characters in the Spanish-speaking world, with his unique personality, managed to reconcile his relationship with his son, get a job as a messenger at his company, rise to become a member of the board of directors, and win over his new love: Dr. Fernanda.
Peter the Great: Greater Than Ever is now an unprecedented phenomenon in digital media. It reached over 1.2 billion users on social media, with X (formerly Twitter) being the platform with the largest reach, exceeding 900 million.
