Escupiré sobre sus tumbas, the ambitious production by Caracol Televisión, ended last night as the leader of Colombia’s prime-time television. This melodrama, infused with high doses of thriller elements and unexpected twists in every episode, captivated audiences with an international cast and a gripping story of love and revenge set in the elite port communities of the Caribbean. With a rating of 8.4 and a 45.5% share, it outperformed its direct competition.
Five million viewers tuned in for the series finale, starring Spanish actor Cristian Gamero (Luis Miguel, la serie) and Puerto Rican actress Essined Aponte (Nicky Jam, el ganador).
The series, inspired by the novel I Shall Spit on Your Graves by French writer Boris Vian, was filmed in various iconic locations along Colombia’s Caribbean coast, including Club Náutico de Cartagena, Puerto Colombia, Malecón de Barranquilla, Castillo Grande, Barranquilla’s historic center, and Pumarejo Bridge. Cutting-edge camera technology and a dynamic, modern visual style were employed in its production.
Produced by Asier Aguilar (Surviving Escobar, Alias JJ) and directed by Carlos Mario Urrea (La reina del sur) and Mónica Botero (Sin senos no hay paraíso), the series features an original score by Nicolás Uribe (Pasión de gavilanes).
Alongside Essined Aponte and Cristian Gamero, the cast includes María Elisa Camargo (Tarde lo conocí), Mario Camacho, Rita Bendek (Bolívar), Leonardo Acosta (Escobar, el Patrón del mal), Cristina García, Carlos Aguilar (Narcos), José Narváez (El cartel de los capos, el origen), and Juan Fernando Sánchez (Romina poderosa).
