Viewers tuned in for the highly anticipated premiere of On Another Level, the professional singing competition created by Caracol Televisión that discovers the next global music stars.
On its premiere night, the fourth season of the music competition show featured judges Kike Santander, Latin Grammy–winning composer and music producer; Felipe Peláez, Latin Grammy–nominated singer-songwriter and a leading figure in Colombian music, joining the panel for the first time; and Gian Marco, Peruvian singer-songwriter and producer, known for writing hits for artists such as Marc Anthony and Gloria Estefan, who also joins the panel this season. The show scored an 8.4 rating with a 47.3% share, meaning 5 million viewers tuned in to Caracol Televisión.
This season brings an exciting transformation. The competition is now group-based, with four artists joining forces to form a band and take their talent On Another Level.
The winning group will receive more than $150,000 USD, along with a concert tour contract.
The show also introduces a new host: Cristina Hurtado, one of the most prominent TV presenters in the country, who joins Caracol Televisión for the first time. “It has been an incredibly exciting, challenging, and rewarding experience. This is a format Colombians have loved for years, and hosting such a meaningful program is truly a privilege. Each contestant arrives with dreams, powerful stories, and a deep passion for music. Accompanying them on this journey connects me closely with the audience and with the purpose of the show. I feel honored to be part of a space that celebrates talent, family, and genuine emotions,” said Cristina Hurtado.
Kike Santander, returning to the show, shared his perspective: “My goal is to contribute effectively to the program’s success through my role as senior judge, sharing my knowledge and musical experience to help contestants continuously elevate the quality of their performances. At the same time, I aim to make it entertaining for viewers, combining precision, musical technique, humor, warmth, and a positive spirit.
For me, authenticity is the most important quality in any artist — something that makes them truly unique.”
Felipe Peláez also spoke about joining the judging panel for the first time: “This is an ongoing challenge for me, especially because it’s the first time I have the opportunity to share my journey, my knowledge, and everything I’ve learned after so many years of building a beautiful place in the industry. There’s a lot of excitement and expectation — Am I doing it well? Am I being fully myself? It’s a mix of nerves, joy, and gratitude. The greatest challenge is connecting with the audience and building chemistry with the contestants and the production team, so I can offer constructive feedback that contributes to everyone’s growth, including my own.”
Gian Marco, also new to the panel, expressed his enthusiasm: “I feel happy and honored to join the Caracol Televisión family. The team behind this project has a huge heart. It’s truly a privilege. This format is a great test because it requires knowing how to work as a team. My main advice to the contestants is to pursue their dreams with discipline and let their hearts guide them in every song they choose.”
Shela Aguilera, Talent Formats Manager at Caracol Televisión, discussed the creative challenges of this new season: “The biggest challenge was relaunching a major format while preserving its DNA, updating production dynamics, and introducing a strong group competition element in this fourth season. Team building is now a core part of the competition, without losing the individual excellence that defines the format. Adaptability is essential — not only for the artists competing this season, but also for the creative and production teams. It required strong collaboration to deliver the level of quality the format and the network demand.”
She also highlighted one of the season’s most ambitious production elements:
“Another major challenge was reinstalling the iconic elevator on one of Caracol Televisión’s building façades, bringing the competition back outdoors. Filming in rain and cold weather proved demanding, yet deeply thrilling. Watching the elevator rise amid extraordinary voices reminded us why this stage remains so powerful and unique”.
Every voice has its story — but together, that story will sound On Another Level.
