The Challenge, the original format from Caracol Televisión that has consistently led prime time in every season, recorded an outstanding 57.4% share in its most recent edition in Colombia. In Bulgaria, its adaptation premiered its seventh season on NOVA, debuting as the leader in its slot with a 37.6% share in the 18–59 target.
With more than 20 years on air and adaptations in countries such as Mexico, the United States, Romania, Greece, and Russia, the format has proven to be a global success formula.
Under the slogan “Everything is different”, the new season in Bulgaria introduces a diverse cast of 25 contestants from very different professional, intellectual, and emotional backgrounds, intensifying the social and strategic dynamics of the game. The action once again takes place in Durankulak, an extreme setting that tests both body and mind.
Among the new tribes are:
- The Healers, health and psychology professionals.
- The Phenomena, contestants with unique talents and unconventional intellectual skills.
- The Conquerors, with great physical strength and competitive spirit.
In addition, an extra tribe, The Winners, surprised the audience by being defeated in the premiere and sent to the Swamp, the toughest area of the game.
The season reinforces the DNA of the format with unpredictable twists that keep players’ strategies in check, along with stronger social dynamics where psychological pressure, alliances, and betrayals are just as decisive as the physical challenges.
