Victoria Dominguez, a celebrated soap actress and a very successful singer of ballads, returns to her country after a humiliating tour of the United States where she wasn’t even able to make it as an extra. Victoria’s homecoming is a disaster; she finds herself without any job offers since she is no longer considered contemporary and to make things even worse, the Internal Revenue Service seizes everything she owns. But she has loftier plans, to win back Abel Morales, her ex-husband and the love of her life, and to begin her family life again next to her twin sons. However, she is left without one or the other when she finds out that Abel is planning to marry Natalia Dulce, a gorgeous woman, perfect in every sense as well as fifteen years her junior who has taken her place and will suffer the rejection of the twins who resent her for having chosen her career over them. To top things off, she finds out that her public has forgotten her and she has been replaced by Nicole, an eighteen year old, who is basking in the fame of her Reggaeton hit “I Took Your Place”; a phrase that aptly describes what is presently happening to Victoria Dominguez. Nevertheless, Vicky does not give up. She must win back her ex-husband and get her children to forgive her in order to regain her place in the family she loves with all her heart and soul. She also needs to give new momentum to her agonizing career and, to do so, will need to dethrone Nicole who will become her staunch enemy. It is a difficult road, but Victoria Dominguez is determined to prove that a woman over fifty can have it all; she can have a family, the man she loves, and in addition to that continue to conserve her place as the one and only… Diva! (La diva).
