It tells the story of the new spiritual and religious world Colombia is living in after the end of the Catholic Church monopoly, and the diverse offer of mainly Protestant churches. Just like the rest of Latin America, Colombia used to be a fully Catholic country, where the church had significant control and influence. A typical town square included the city hall building, the police station, and highest than everything the church, the center of the religious, social, political and cultural life. Two decades ago, but much stronger over the past years, there has been an explosion of new churches, coming mainly from the US. The old, homogeneous, hierarchical world with a set truth has disappeared. Today, in urban areas many parishioners attend religious services in mega churches on Sundays and even on weekdays, and they religiously tithe. (La Fuerza de la Fé).
